Too lazy to think up a title

Hello all. I am currently cleaning the room and simultaneously studying for my midterms. As I logged onto the internet to check something, I saw two news stories that caught my attention. Both of these sound like they should be in the Onion, but are actually Reuters stories.

The first, was that Afghanistan's ONLY pig was quarantined for fear of swine flu.

The second, was that one provincial Chinese government ordered all of its officials to smoke 23,000 packs of government approved cigarettes a year. If you didn't smoke enough or smoked non-Chinese brands you would be fined. Then tons of people began throwing shit fits and the government reversed the order.

Anyhow, I am doing well, although I was sick as a dog all of last week and I'm still coughing a fair amount now. Having fun at school, and this friday I'm going to do a demo at a middle school on how to make chainmaille and sword fight and stuff for my medieval reenactment group.
My computer is also acting up. The drivers that control the keyboard and mouse got deleted, so I literally cannot do anything once I turn my computer on (stealing Chessie's for now). So my stepdad is mailing me his Windows re-install disk, so hopefully I can fix this soon.
I should go back to cleaning and studying now.
How's everyone doing? I hope all is well.

Happy Suspend reality day!

Hello! For all of you who don't know, today is Suspend Reality day! I wanted to suspend reality by making armor for my medieval reenactment group, the Adrian Empire, but unfortunately I didn't have enough large pieces of leather, and I didn't fancy having to measure, cut, fit, and sew a few dozen pieces of leather by myself. So instead I played Bioshock and read more of this book called "The Postman" by David Brin. It's cool, a post-apocalyptic novel from 1985. I'd recommend picking it up if you see it. So yeah, I hope everyone is doing well. I am, happy to be back in school, though I'm going to have to take out a loan to do it, which I am less happy about. I got a summer job, but unfortunately it requires me to do Cold Calls during the non-summer months. Yuck. I don't like cold calling at all, but unfortunately I have to right now. I've got to go at 1800-2000 tonight, which particularly sucks, 'cause it means I get all the cranky people who just got home or are eating dinner. I'm also trying to get a work study job that pays more immediately, because that would be nice.
I also just read a book called "The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman, another really good book. It was written in the 1970's, and is a sci-fi novel about this guy, William Mandella, who gets drafted into the army to fight a war against aliens. However, due to time dilation from Faster than Light Travel, while it seems to take 10 months or so to reach the various battlegrounds, it actually takes closer to 70-120 years round trip. Hence the title.
Also on a fun note, in the Adrian Empire I got promoted to Minister of Archery, so I get to organize and run the archery events, so that should be fun. Also, on Memorial Day weekend we are having a huge 3-day event, the Banner War. This should be excellent, all of the members from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho all coming together to fight a huge war with each other. I'm very excited about it.
I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello all. So, things are both good and not quite so good. I'll start with the bad, 'cause they're short. Namely, I am currently unemployed, and it's had to find a new job. On the plus side, I do have a potential job, so hopefully that'll come through. Also, I had a great holiday, if too short. My XBox 360 broke, but it is fixed (for free as it is under warranty) I've been playing of Fallout 3 (which is amazing) whenever I'm not hunting for jobs. School is going well too. Hope all is going well for everyone else.

Hello! Merry Christmakwanzahannukah!
I had a blast, and it was great being able to see a bunch of my friends and family again! Off to get in the shower so I can get ready for a 19-hour Greyhound bus ride back up to Oregon.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Love,

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU.

I do believe George Orwell is rolling around in his grave fast enough to power an electric motor right about now.

As in seriously, this is the kind of shit that will turn America into a tyranny if it isn't stopped.
